During my formative years, the height of Fashion was the women in NYC wearing all black.
Though I had never been to New York back in 2016, I pictured every woman in the magazine industry wearing a black leather moto jacket with black skinny jeans and black booties.
Side note - Remember when it seemed like a black leather pointed-toe boot was the most stylish, transformative thing you could possibly wear? I digress.
The point is, for many years, I considered an all-black outfit to be the pinnacle of Fashion.
Monochromatic dressing is still iconic and high fashion, but these days I prefer it in softer shades than black, mostly because the color - associated with severity, punk, anger, funerals, etc., doesn’t speak to my personality. Plus, color analysis showed me that softer, cool-toned colors like pale blues, gray and taupe-browns better harmonize with my natural featuring.
