This is part of a series about my experience with minimalist style challenge, Project 333: selecting ~33 articles of clothing to wear for three months. To read why I’m doing this and what I’ve included in my wardrobe, check out the first installment.
I’m scrapping the format this week, simply because getting dressed wasn’t my top priority this week! In fact, I spent most of the week wearing athletic clothes because I have had more free-time at work and have taken advantage of the opportunity to go to the gym, longer walks, hikes, and practice yoga.
Instead, I’d like to celebrate an accomplishment from the week - completing a hike I had previously thought I couldn’t do! I’m an avid hiker, but for some reason there’s a few hikes in my hometown I’ve always written off as “for someone else.” Lately, I’ve been paying more attention to the stories I tell myself about what I can or cannot have or do. In fact, Project 333 is an example of one of the things I *thought* I couldn’t do after a failed attempt in 2018.
So, when I had a few free hours yesterday, I specifically chose one of the more challenging local hikes, and I did it!
Yes, it was hard, and I’m sore today, but the confidence-boost is well-worth it.
I’m not waiting for the new year to chase my dreams. I’m starting now.
I’ll be back the first week of Jan with my next Project 333 capsule, but unlikely to write about the process as formally.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Maureen
